God has entrusted his people with a particular mission. While the details of this mission may vary, the ultimate goal remains the same: to lead people into a saving relationship with God that will extend into eternity.

The First Angel’s Message

The first angel’s message (Rev 14:6,7) proclaims the everlasting gospel: salvation through the righteousness and grace of Christ – his power of justification and sanctification. The angel announces that the hour of judgment has come and calls people to return to the true worship of God, recognizing Him as the Creator.

The announcement that we are living in the hour of judgment is based on the fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 8:14: after 2,300 evenings and mornings (or prophetic days, which equate to years), the sanctuary would be cleansed. So, since October 22, 1844, we have been living in the period investigative judgment period – ​​cleansing the heavenly sanctuary. The results of this investigative judgment will determine who will ascend to heaven when Jesus returns.

The Second Angel’s Message

The second angel’s message (Rev 14:8), which announces the fall of Babylon, was presented for the first time in the summer of 1844. 4 Babylon here refers to churches that disregarded the warning of judgment because in the prophecy this announcement comes after the preaching of judgment, and because the churches to which this message applies were once pure.

The message is, “Babylon the Great has fallen!”» is repeated in Revelation 18.1-4. God’s remaining followers in Babylon are urged to leave in order to avoid joining in its sins and to avoid the calamities that will befall it. Therefore, Babylon comprises the Churches, which teach many theological errors from the Church of the Middle Ages.
