It's Expo Time Again!
.
The summer break is over and expo season is back again!  Already, volunteers have helped us give away lots of DVDs, The Deaf Messenger samples, New Testament Bibles, and other materials.

Thus far this fall, we have given away materials at four exciting events in four cities: Phoenix, AZ; Louisville, KY; Worcester, MA; and Portland, OR.

Most noticed a DVD player showing the DVD "Signs of God's Love" with Esther M. Doss.  They were attracted by the story telling in the beautiful mountains and snow in Colorado.
Many just stood to watch the program while hundreds of people walked by.  They were excited to know that they could have a DVD and other materials to take home for free.

Portland, Oregon area is considered to be one of the most secular areas in the United States.  But, we had the most success there.  A box of 150 packets were gone in 2 1/2 hours!  Rose Davis said, "It seemed as if we had nothing to offer because the packets were gone, but it was just the opposite.  Running out of the packets gave each volunteer the chance to speak with the people more about what we had to offer with the literature.  But more importantly, we could share Jesus."  The volunteers took down additional names and addresses of Deaf people who would be interested in getting materials through the mail.

One of the volunteers in Worcester said she became painfully aware that many Deaf people are starving for spiritual food, but seems that most of them face a brick wall.  For example, several Deaf individuals were disappointed to find out that there are no Adventist churches in Boston with interpreters, and others were disappointed to find that Deaf Adventist churches in the Worcester area did not exist

A big surprise occured in Worcester. DeafNation Expo has a "superhero" by the name of SuperDeafy.  At each DeafNation Expo, SuperDeafy walks up and down the aisles and randomly picks individuals to ask a themed Deaf-cultured question.  In Worcester, SuperDeafy walked up right up to Pamela Leith to ask her a question.  Pamela is a Deaf SDA in the Worcester area who was volunteering in the booth.  If you would like to see the video, click on this link.  You will have to watch for a few minutes before seeing Pamela.  She is standing in front of our booth with the www.DeafBibleSchool.com sign.

Many seeds have been planted.  Over 500 packets were given away, new names for The Deaf
Messenger were collected, and many meaningful conversations and studies were held.  God's word never returns to Him void.  Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will move upon these people.
