The Hovey's decided that the time has come for retirement. Jim Hovey served his last day as Executive Director on February 28th. Jim Hovey was chosen as the Executive Director April, 2001. He and his wife have given much of themselves to this ministry since that time. They endeavored to take the gospel message to as many Deaf people as possible. Although an administrator, Jim worked in the trenches to meet Deaf people where they are. Through his leadership, the ministry has prospered and many lives have been touched. Bunny served as editor of The Deaf Messenger and handled the Deaf Bible School. They have moved to central Oregon. We miss them immensely!
Statement submitted by Beth Dobson, secretary of ADM Board of Directors:
"The Board of Directors is extremely indebted to Jim and Bunny Hovey for their incredible dedication, energy, and enthusiasm to make Adventist Deaf Ministries (ADM) a very viable organization for the past six years in Arizona. We immensely thank them for the exceptional manner in which they have handled a multitude of tasks to be certain the Deaf received a beautiful gospel about Jesus Christ, especially His love for mankind. We wish the Hoveys well during their retirement.
"The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Elder George Belser is the Interim Executive Director of ADM for the time being until a permanent Executive Director is chosen. The Board is very appreciative of Elder Belser's remarkable job in the office."
