ADM Office Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
November 13, 2005 was a very special day for Adventist Deaf Ministries. On this date, we had the ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the ADM office building.
Before cutting the ribbon, ADM Board Chairperson, Pastor David Trexler, and ADM Executive Director, Jim Hovey, extended their thanks and appreciation to the entire Apache Junction SDA church family for their dedicated support of ADM. A special plaque of appreciation was also given to the church. This will serve as a reminder of our appreciation to the Apache Junction church family.
Then it was time to cut the ribbon in order to 'officially' open the ADM office. The weather that day was ideal with a sunny blue sky.
Those cutting the ribbon were Paul Vliet, George Henderson, and Melvin Maxwell (representing those who put in many hours of labor to construct the building) and Pastor Greg Jones (representing the Apache Junction church family). Also cutting the ribbon were Pastor David Trexler and Jim Hovey.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, visitors were given a chance to see the office and learn more about ADM's unique ministry to Deaf people within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We were pleased to have a special visitor, Kent Sharpe, from the Arizona Conference.
There were a lot of questions and answers, as well as the opportunity to show visitors how we can do even more outreach to Deaf people via videophone, etc.
After everyone's curiousity was satisfied, Louise Maxwell and Phyllis Vliet took charge of a delicious luncheon for those who came for the ribbon cutting ceremony and the tour of the ADM office. They even had the tables covered with teal colored tablecloth along with teal plates, napkins, etc. (Teal is the color of the ADM logo.)
If you weren't able to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony, you can still take a tour of the ADM office! Click on the link below and choose Tour of ADM office. Let Bunny Hovey take you on a video tour!
